A Powerful Coalition for Food Justice in Maryland
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
KAUSE Marketing & PR is proud to announce our partnership with The Collaborative (FBCOG) and the Maryland Department of Health on the newly launched Maryland Farmers EBT Project — a targeted campaign to reduce food insecurity and improve access to fresh, locally grown food for low-income residents across the Eastern Shore.
This statewide effort is designed to support farmers in adopting EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) systems at farm stands, enabling greater use of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and Maryland Market Money (MMM) benefits. The project aligns health, agriculture, and equity to create stronger local food systems that nourish both people and economies.
KAUSE has been selected as the Marketing, PR, and Campaign Development Lead for this multi-sector initiative. Our work includes:
Designing and launching an equity-centered public awareness campaign
Creating a new EBT microsite featuring health tips, market schedules, and fresh recipe content
Developing promotional toolkits for farmers, including signage, social templates, and videos
Managing digital communications, social media, and storytelling that resonates across communities
“At KAUSE, we believe marketing can be used for positive outcomes for all. This project doesn’t just expand access to healthy food — it strengthens Maryland’s economy, uplifts local farmers, and deepens community relationships. We’re honored to be part of this powerful movement.”

This project is made possible through the The Collaborative (FBCOG) and a strategic network of partners including the University of Maryland Extension Services, The People’s Market DMV, and Dr. Heather Knows, and Maryland Social Services. Together, the team brings community insight, agricultural expertise, and health equity strategies to ensure success.
The campaign will run through Fall 2025 and includes in-person events, digital content, technical assistance, and outreach strategies that connect EBT users with local farmers and markets.
